What I do here

I have been at Compare Forex Brokers since 2018 and Head of Content since 2019. I manage a team of up to five forex writers, own the content roadmap and the keyword strategy behind it, brief the work out, and read what comes back before any of it goes live.

Most of my week is the unglamorous half of publishing. Deciding what is worth covering, writing a brief so the writer knows what the page has to prove, then reading the draft against that brief. The last part is the one I care about. A page can be well written and still be wrong, and on a site where people are deciding where to put their money, wrong is the failure that counts. Those same checks sit behind every broker in our guide to the best forex brokers in Australia.

How I check an Australian broker page

Every number on a review has to come from the broker itself, never from another comparison site. For an ASIC-regulated broker that means the AFSL against the ASIC register, the leverage tiers against the Product Intervention Order, and the spreads, commissions and AUD funding terms against the broker’s own site and its live platform.

The platform check is the one that gets skipped. What a broker advertises and what its terminal quotes on the day are not always the same number, and the terminal is the one a reader will actually trade against.

Pricing also moves without anyone announcing it, so the job does not end at publication. When something we have already published stops matching its source, it gets corrected and the page gets re-dated.

Before this

I came to content from software testing. Five and a half years of that were at 2cloudnine, a Salesforce consultancy, first as Salesforce Product Coordinator and then as Senior Test Analyst, building and running test plans, regression suites and release checks. Before that I was a production and business improvement analyst at ANZ, and earlier still spent more than six years at IBM on capacity planning and infrastructure delivery.

The certificates come from that period: ISTQB Certified Tester at Foundation Level, plus Salesforce Certified Administrator and Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder.

Education

I hold a Bachelor of Business Systems from Monash University, and a Graduate Diploma of Arts (Media and Communications) and a Graduate Certificate of Commerce from Swinburne University of Technology.

Where to find me

Spotted a number on a review that looks wrong? The contact page is the fastest way to reach me, and it is worth sending even if you are not certain. I would rather re-check a figure that turns out to be fine.
